About Us

Established in 1969, Space Vector Corporation (SVC) has earned a reputation for providing a timely and flexible response to customer needs with an unmatched record of reliability. SVC has launched 37 vehicles to date (see SVC Vehicles Brochure) with program turnaround times (inception to launch) as short as 8 months.SVC has also provided flight subsystems such as cold gas attitude control systems (ACS), guidance and control platforms, and vehicle structures on over 250 space flights for domestic and international customers.

SVC's initial focus was on scientific customers such as the Naval Research Laboratory, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Air Force Geophysics Lab. Starting in 1979, SVC expanded its services to support major Department of Defense (DoD) space test programs. Among these are the U.S. Army Homing Overlay Experiment (HOE), Exoatmospheric Reentry Interceptor System (ERIS), Queen Match, and PLV Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) programs.

Space Vector support to the DoD has included providing targets for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (Now Missile Defense Agency, MDA) starting with the Delta 180 program, the Joint Air Force/Navy Airborne Interceptor Experiment (ABIE) program, the U.S. Army Hera target program, the AltAir Ballistic Air Launched Target program, and most recently, the atmospheric interceptor technology (ait-2) program.

Space Vector is also well known as a manufacturer of specialty guidance and control flight hardware for spinning and guided rockets. SVC has built over 1000 Miniature Inertial Digital Attitude System (MIDAS) platforms for various customers. Other subsystems manufactured at Space Vector and flown extensively include the cold gas, adjustable Attitude Control System (ACS), the zero-g Rate Control System (RCS), the Magnetic ACS and the integrated Advanced Guidance Control System (AGCS).

SVCis a leader in providing electrical interface units to perform the complete task of communication between today's digital flight computers and the launch vehicles thrust vector control units, attitude control systems, ordnance and other rocket devices (modern or decommissioned, digital or analog).

SVChas also provided a wide assortment of nose fairings, motor adapters, skirt/fin assemblies, payload support modules and associated support and test equipment.
