Parachute Recovery and Flotation Systems
| Space Vector has designed and flight qualified barometric sensing Parachute Recovery systems for payloads weighing up to 3500 pounds. Both the BEAR and Exceed III programs successfully deployed their parachute recovery systems and provided approximately 20 feet per second impact velocity for their 3500 pound payloads. | For water recovery Space Vector also has developed a flotation device to augment the recovery parachute system. It was demonstrated on the HARP program. The flotation device is equipped with a dye marker and locating beacon. The flotation device is shown at the right. The complete recovery/flotation system is shown below. | ![]() |
