Space Vector structures are designed to withstand the rigors of space launch environments. Our flight proven structures range in diameter from 9 to 60+ inches to interface with a variety of launch vehicle configuration. Key features include: • Aluminum alloy or stainless steel semi-monocoque construction Space Vector fabricates one piece ejectable nose cones, split clamshell fairings, guidance and control sections, motor adapters, interstages, and skirt and fin assemblies. We also build a wide variety of ground and vehicle support equipment including launch stools and consoles, booster erectors, and handling slings. SVC developed and fabricated the split, clamshell nose fairing for the successful PLV program. This flight proven design currently allows payloads up to 80 inches tall by 26 inches in diameter with plans to expand the aluminum semi-monocoque shell structure to accommodate even larger payloads. The unique separation system ensures clean and reliable deployment of the fairing at up to 10 g's. Lightweight cork insulation provides thermal protection during ascent. Quick disconnect fitting at the base of the nose fairing allows continuos environmental control right up to launch. An optional gasket along the longitudinal split line provides additional protection during transportation and flight. |
